Another surprise was defeating Tucker for the first time in the history of the school. Coach Nancy Carrig turned the girls over to Coach Fay Rawlings who is doing a fantastic job in pulling the team together. Tennis became a fall sport this year and the girls began practicing in August along with all other fall sports. Top players were Leanne Seward, Susan Erd- man, Michelle Diaz and Geor- gianne Stinnet, (co-captains), Lisa Duke, and Francis Pitts. They are basically a young team with the only returning seniors being Lori Allen and Julie Bartle. However, with determination and outstanding skills, the Lady Warriors were successful in taking the district and state titles. At state level Susan won first and second in singles, respectively and they combined their efforts to take the doubles competition. 163
