Although the under- classmen’s sports sometimes do not receive all the recognition they should, none appreciate them more than the cheerlead- ers. Since neither receives the benefit of an athletic study hall to practice their cheers, it takes much dedication to be at all practices and games. V.C. Get That Disco Fever Vanessa Watson Pam Jones eo = ot ETS RAO os The Spirit Makers of Henrico have always been the Varsity Cheerleaders. This year’s squad not only lived up to its reputa- tion but surpassed it. Cheers like ‘“Get down, disco, hey War- riors let’s go!” give a new beat to the traditional cheers. The fact that our cheerleaders are the best was not only recog- nized by the student body, but was also proved when they won the district cheerleading competition. 140 The colorguard, a very popu- lar group at Henrico, has been a focus of attention this year. It consists of twenty-one flags, eight rifles and commanders with sabres. With a unique style that catches the eye, the colorguard has brought much glamour and sophistication to the football field. Upper: Lauri Shook and Yolanda Archer are colorguard commanders.
