Editorial Progression of Change This year the atmosphere at Henrico High School has become transformed. Spirit has been high. Brains have been active. Brawn has been vigorous. Authority has been strong. All of these eviden- ces can be attributed to a progression of change in our school. The role of principal was assumed by Dr. Edgar Wallin. Mr. Tom Walls and Mr. Frank Cumbo joined Mr. Alan Dessenberger as assistant principals. This enthusiastic team of administrators became the instigators of change. The alterations occurred initially in tangible ways. Students were given an additional choice in the lunch line, salads. Ice cream and milkshakes also were made available. New privileges were instituted for seniors including a legal skip day. The entire student body enjoyed the music of the Air Force Band, Mach I. The students were not the only segment which benefited; teachers enjoyed the convenience of a multiple-copy Xerox machine. CETA aides relieved the teachers of a few of their many responsi- bilities. These physical changes have brought corresponding intangible changes. A three-way respect formerly existing among students, faculty, and administration has been strengthened. Discipline has been improved; classes have become more enjoyable; pep rallies, livelier. A psychological transformation has been evident through- out the school. With all its restructuring, Henrico High School still strives to prepare its students for the future, but in a way that makes the present happy and enjoyable. This year, fulfillment and achieve- ment in school have been ensured for us by a progression of posi- tive change. Lindsey Edwards Editor 123
