! } Notable Achievement This past summer Henrico was proud to have students selected to attend Boys’ and Girls’ State and The Governor's School for the Gifted. Ten Jun- iors and one Sophomore were selected through teachers’ eval- uations and community organi- zations. The time spent at the assigned college campuses for the activities proved to be a very valuable and memorable experience to all. On January 5, 1979, a group of students were selected to be tapped into the National Honor Society. The Honorable Charles S. Robb was the guest speaker for the occasion. Foreign Exchange: Janet Knowles Arrives From “Down Under” Janet Knowles, Henrico’s for- eign exchange student, arrived in August to spend this school year. Janet lives in Kaitaia, New Zealand. She is involved in such school activities as French Club, A.F.S., Concert Choir, and H-Teens. Outside of school activities, Janet likes to go shop- ping and dancing. Some of her favorite singers include Joni Mitchell and Steely Dan. Janet says the first thing she noticed was the friendliness everyone showed.
