i BS —s WHSe. m cl iy Jesse Pernell The Varsity Girl Dribblers compiled a fantastic record this season. An impressive win, the Tip-off Tournament, started the team rolling to success. Tough opponents, Patrick Henry and Highland Springs definitely felt the force of the: ‘’Green Machine”’. Coach Joan Darden and the quad-captains, Laura Gregory, Kathy Rowlett, Tammy Trotman and Benita Turner sparked the team to numerous victories despite several injuries to players. The district win over Patrick Henry SEEN ® WHS@at Si 20 phi 15 ¥, Jesse Pernell by a narrow margin gave the Varsity Dribblers an automatic regional berth. This valuable win was the thirteenth district title for Coach Darden. A definite advantage to the team this year was the signifi- cant experience to be gained from the extra games put into this year’s schedule. Veterans of the 1977 team added much depth and excitement.
