McNutt, Social Security Administrator, former High Commissioner to the Philippines, and prominent aspirant for the 1940 Democratic nomination for Presi- dent. The presence of the handsome, silver-haired Mr. McNutt was the greatest honor ever experienced by Henderson in all of its fifty' years of history. Before going to the crowded Haygood Gymnasium to spealc to students and Arlcadelphia citizens, Mr. lVlcNutt dined with the students in the college dining hall and later met and talked with friends of Henderson at the home of President Day. Above the genial Hoosier is pictured after his speech in the Haygood Gym- nasium.

1914-Main building burns. The present building was erected a few months later. 1922-The annual turkey day classic between the Henderson Reddies and the Ouachita Tigers. These games between the two rival colleges were first started in the early 1900's. The Reddies evened the score, in 1939, by defeating the Tigers 3-0.
