TWENTY FIVE YEARS AGO The Hemlock High School building is 25 years old this year. A lot of memories are abounding in these hall and many more are in the offing. Below is a picture of the old Hemlock High building which has since been torn down. The dedication is the original one from the 1959 Year Book. Recently we bid farewell to an old friend and greeted a new one. That friend, the old high school building, has long been a part of our town and of our lives. As we sit among our new surroundings we find our eyes wan- dering to the windows to gaze at it. If we could recall only a minute part of all the memories we have shared there, what a fortune that would be. Sometimes we laughed, sometimes we cried; but always the school stood calm, undaunted, and ready to greet us. Regardless of what we felt one day we were happy to be a part of it the next. Here at Hemlock we are only a very small part of the great educational system of our State, nation, and world, but still we are like one big family held together by common inter- est, activities, and tradition. Our old building was the center about which our lives revolved up until a few short months ago. Even though it has been replaced by a new building it will never be replaced in our hearts and minds. 19
