Cheerleaders Varsity Lett: Back Row; Helen Madden, Kristi Wegner, Chris Etienne, Judy Wurtzel. Front Row: Diane Thorington, Ann Wudel, Diane Pavllch, Lynn Erskine. JV Below Lett: Back Row: Tammy Konecny, Sarah Sarchet, Tammy Ostrowski. Middle: Kim Fatura Front Row; Jackie Heinz, Debbie Giles, Holly Cushman. The J.V. and Varsity Cheerleading squads' main goals this year were to increase spirit in the school and community. Posters and locker decorations were seen throughout the building adding a special touch to otherwise plain walls. Both squads worked together with the help of their advisors, Mrs. Erskine and Mrs. Fatura. The squads put on nearly all pep assemblies and sponsored the basketball team's Parents’ Night. The squads worked with many community and school fund-raising functions and strived to uphold the fine name the Hemlock athletes have achieved. In most opinions, the year ended on a very successful note and next year’s cheerleaders are already set to begin! n

Pom Pon Girls This year was one of the best years for the 1981-82 Pom Pon squad. With the help of their advisor, Jackie Heath, the girls performed at pep assemblies, football games, and basketball games. They added entertainment to our gatherings by presenting routines with gloves, pom pons, and flashlights. They arranged the parents’ night for varsity football and for girls’ varsity basketball. The 1981-82 Pom Pon squad attended clinics, and they also made a special performance for the Fashion Square Skating Center. All in all, this group of fifteen girls has done an outstanding job representing our school. Top to bottom, left to right: Cindy Beck, Captain Rhonda Clare, Ann Brindley, Tracy Pacholke, Co-Captain Willajean Yahn, Karen Mlkek, Julie Turner, Kelly Draper, Kathy Smith, Jill Murphy, Dee Kenny, Peggy Curtis, Janice Kade. Missing: Amy Hubbard Holly Schaeding. 10
