At our first class meeting,which was held Oct, 7,we chose the following officers: President-Norm Bonnell VlcePrcs-Don Kenny Treasuror-Kenny Short Secretary-Danny O’Leary Advisor-Mr. Kresbach On Oct. 19, wo were initiated by the sophomores. We play- ed games In the afternoon, and after a long and enjoyable day, we were given a nice party. On Dec, 5, we gave the sophomores a roller skatinj party to show our gratitude to them for accepting us as Fellow Stu- dents in their high school. In March 1949, we lost one of our class mates Dick Link, but gained another Don Ackley from Merrill. When we came back a3 Sophomores we chose Mr, Kresbach for our advisor again. As officers: Presid nt-Dcn Kenny Vice Pres-Shirley Van Bocxlaer Secretary-Alice Wilt Treasurer-Alvin Raucholz This was the first year, in which we could earn money to- ward our senior trip. Some of the activities were: bake sales. Juke box dances, and concession sales at basketball games. During the annual Homecoming Boll a big event every year we chose Gerry Lctrldge, as the Sophomore who would represent our class. Some of our classmates left us while we were sophomores; Kenny Short, Mary Ann horny, Marlene Jewell, Holly Kricher, Imogene McFarland, and Dale Wasr.iller. But we gained Marlene Sollner. With the coming cf our Junior Year, we began to prepare for our first dance ”ThR TURrtY TROT”, which was held Nov, 22, Lamont Corp and his orchestra furnished the music. We looked around us and found that we had lost still more of our classmates; Virginia Van Haften, Bernard Nothelfer and Stanley Kaiser, then there were two new people who joined us: Dick Chadwick from Illinois, and Den Emeott from Saginaw, We now have 41 members in our class. Some cf the activities we plan tc have in cur Junior Year are: The Sadie Hawkins Dance, The Snow or Sweater Swirl Dance Junior Prom, Jr, Sr. Banquet, Concessions at games, Bake sales and our Junior Play. Our 1950 Cross Country Schedule was as follows: 1-Tho Hills of Hastings; and a tirod bunch of boys. 2 Thc Midland Puzzle; in which most of tho boys got lost working tnorc way around tho running course, 3- Tho Albion Tarvy ; where most of ny boys limped in (or slipped in) on pin-cussioned foot. 4- nd last of all the Littlo Six Moot ; Rain and muddy foot. Bob Boyercdorf, our captain this year, is our star milcr;run- ning with Bob aro Dale Kelley and Ray Howe. Co-Capt .Dale Encctt our flash dash man is back this year to pile up points;wo ro hoping for a lot of comoetition for Dale this year from four other good men in Jerry Konnolly,Doug Kcblcbock, and Don Foy, and Tom Smith. Tom Haven and Ron Cravon our two hurdling wizards aro back and going strong; they’re good in the running events too. Remember the relays? Mol Guettlor is back, with Mol you'll sec John H0rny, Jim Lynch, Ron Harding, and several others all fine runners. Dale Er- skin, Frank Rauchholz, the Brawncy boys , aro out tossing the shot around this year.
