Each of the six league schools is saluted on a division page by a reproduction of its mascot and a brief paragraph on its history. On this page the Beaumont Cougar. the Fallbrook VVar- rior. and the Perris Panther are seen busily painting a If map of the DeAnza League. On the opposite page the Elsinore Tiger, the Hemet Bulldog. and the San Jacinto Tiger are working hard on the picture of our dedicatee. We hope that the spirit of friendliness and co-operation in which these mascots are working will be an example to the students ofthe DeAnza League and that our league vvill truly become the League of Friendship. The first students of Beaumont High School studied in tents prior to the building of their new school in 1911. ln 1927 the present main building was built and today, the students of Beaumont Union High School CCougarsJ are looking forward to the completion of a new high school. Lucky Cougars! The year of 1960 marks the fiftieth senior class to graduate from Beaumont Union High School just as it marks the fiftieth anniversary year of the incorporated township of Hemet. With our common interests and goals as neighboring high schools, the Bulldogs and Cougars have an opportunity to build better and lasting relations in our League of Friend- ship. Four years later, in 1890, seven students graduated from what was at that time called the San Jacinto Grammar School, the equivalent of the present high school. In 1911 students began to attend classes in the building that still houses the offices and many classrooms on the sites of the present high school. San Jacinto High School, smallest in Riverside County, is the traditional rival of the Hemet Bulldogs. This rivalry ap- proaches its peak at the annual Hemet-San Jacinto football game. The winner of this game is awarded the Victory Bell, a traveling trophy between the schools. This year the bell was won by the Hemet Bulldogs in a 32-13 victory over San Jacinto. While often in fierce competition with the Tigers we Bulldogs enjoy nothing better than a good and fair game with our fav- orite rival 1 NJ xgzorfg joofgaf A Coach Dub Fowler NXXXXXXN WNNNNXXNX 'Lx J V Coach J V Coach Bull Smlth Robert Van Voorhls Coach Norm West X..
