Transferring from Knox College af Galesburo, Illinois, Miss McKelvey received her Bachelor of Arfs from Occidenfal College, Los Angeles, where she won fhe honor of membership in Phi Befa Kappa, nafional scholasfic honor sociefy. Her feaching career began af Palo Verde, near Blyfhe, where she was an insfrucfor for four years. Anofher year was spenf af Fillmore previous fo her coming fo l-lemef high school. As a newcomer fo l-lemef in I924, Miss McKelvey soon made a place for herself in a variefy of school acfivifies. l-ler ready smile and encouraging bif of advice have been in demand for many years now. We find fhaf she has af one fime or anofher been advisor for pracfically every organizafion in school. Girls' League, Sfudenf Council, girls' afhlefics, California Scholarship Federafion, have all received her help, and she has also served as annual advisor, cafeferia man- if Mm --'a ager, and sponsor for every class in school, from soph- omore on fhrough senior! Many of The junior classes of fhe pasf would have mef disasfer in fheir planning and preparafion for fhe Junior-Senior banguef, had if nof been for Miss McKelveyg and fhe C.S.F. sfudenfs of I-lemef high school have none ofher fhan Miss McKelvey fo fhank for fheir enioyable week-end frips fo such places as Boulder Dam an-d Sanfa Barbara. Nor should' Miss McKelvey's feaching abilify go wifhouf nofice, for if has been demonsfrafed in nearly every subiecf.
