Then came DiTch Day, heralded by The Tradi- Tional orange TighT, and Though some oT The boys emerged looking like overripe TomaToes, insTead oT oranges, They were sTiII able To enioy DiTch Day, Triumphing in The know- ledge ThaT They had deTended The class oT 'SI wiTh honor. Having spenT a day oT lounging on The beach, The seniors reTurned home sunburned and covered wiTh sand. The Tinal big social evenT oT The year was, oT course, The TradiTional Junior-Senior bangueT, long awaiTed and over in a Tlash, buT wiTh memories oT corsages, soTT sTrains oT dance music, and Iig'hTs Turned low. Such a shorT Time since They honored The seniors oT yesTerc'iay, The class oT '50, and now anoTher spring has rolled around, and iT's The Junior-Senior bangueT Tor The class oT '5 II As The Tinal week drew close, seniors pracTiced geT- Ting used To Their caps and gowns on Senior Cap Day, and prepared Tor BaccaIaureaTe services. They gave a Tarewell assembly, where They read The class will and presenTed a program The resT oT The classes could noT TorgeT. And on The Tinal day, pins, prizes and Trophies were received aT The annual awards assembly. Then came The big momenT, graduaTion aT The Ra- mona Bowl - The resTless line oT seniors, The slow pro- cession To Pomp and CircumsTance , The handing ouT oT diplomas - and as They walked clown The aisle ThaT Tinal Time, anoTher class, The class oT '5I, recalled Three happy years crowded wiTh work and Tun aT HemeT High.
