the popular ca rs. Jack-in-the-Box was the favorite after school stopping place. The new Sports Arena and the San Diego Gulls Hockey Team provided High- landers with many an exciting moment. I, The Camaro, as well as the Mustang, Cougar, Charger and Firebird, headlined .fdfld Obtf 011 we 3211111 To balance a week of study, Highlanders relaxed with the latest in entertainment. Movies such as Alfie, Dr, Zhivago, A Man for all Seasons, and The Sand Peb- bles, were enjoyed. The Beatles were out and the Monkees, Animals, Electric Prunes, and Nancy Sinatra were Hin. To satisfy hunger and thirst, Highlanders would often drive-in to A8tW Rootbeer, Jack-in-the-Box or Der Wienerschnitzel. There was always time to enjoy these pleasures. Honda, BMWs and Yamahas became- in- creasingly familar forms of transportation. 13

Wingrtip shoes and no-iron pants predominated boys' fashions. Whether we admit it or not, we all notice what our friends are wearing. We all want to look nice and wear the new styles. This year, girls sported fashion wigs and boots, and a few daring ones wore pierced ear- rings. Never changing much, boys' fashions were tailored after the ever-popular Ivy- League style. Although Highlanders adopted the clothing fads, many still wore the tra- ditional styles. Culotte pant-dresses and print pant-suits were worn by Tent dresses and controversial mini-skirts adorned date-bound girls to casual events. Highlanders. 12
