CLASS OF '57 PRESIDENT VICE PRESIDENT IOHN LYNDES H- I- DHI-I-EY nw SECRETARY REPRESENTATIVE TREASURER DARLENE BALLARD IEANICE HELLAND STEVE FAHRION The mighty class of '57 came to HHS with a bang, sponsoring ct 'Frosh Get Aquainted' dance after only a month of school. This event started a spirit of 'stick-togetherness' that the class has been noted for C111 four YSCIIS. Under the direction of Al Stratton, Ted Cooney, Sam Samson and Iae Retz, they won the coveted Robert's cup, quite a feat for a Freshman class. Sponsors named for the ClCISS Of '57 Were Miss Giese, Miss Morse and Mr. Sprinkle. As Sophomores, they put on a 'Hit Parade' dance in black and white working out in detail the popular songs of the time. Five boys lettered in football, two in basketball, and an additional four in track. The DeMolay sweetheart, Ginny Hand, was chosen from this class, and led by R. I. Dalley, Iudy Retz, Ted Cooney, Ben Notti and Eldon Pickering, they went on to win the Robert's cup again. The year of '56 proved a great year for the class of '57 as they staged the best ever 'Dixie Dreams' prom. They crowned Ianie Glasby, '56 prom gueen, mid decorations of southern shadows highlighted with glitter, and colonial mansions. The class put on a very successful career night and, led by Iim Easbey, Eldon Pickering, Eleanor Foster, Chuck Lip- pert and Carol Anthony, went on to capture the Robert's cup for the third consecutive time, along with the Wahl Cup. The mighty seniors of '57 put on a rip-snortin' Senior roundup that will long be re- membered, headed by Iohn Lyndes, R. I. Dalley, Darlene Ballard, Steve Fahrion and Ieanice Helland. Dot Iones was the second member of the class to be crowned DeMolay sweet- heart. Mr. Mayer was named to take Mr. Spinkle's place as sponsor. After a highly suc- cessful Senior banquet, baccalaureate, and, finally, graduation, the class of '57 left HHS taking many fine memories with them and leaving behind many hours of work and play. The ambition of this class will long be remembered at Helena High. PAGE PAGE TWENTY-TWO
