On September 22, an all-school carnival was held in the school gym to raise money for a new scoreboard. Each class in grades seven through twelve had a proiect, such as a basketball throw, a raffle, a penny arcade, or a burlesque show. Grades one through six sponsored a cake-walk. Various organizations sold candy, taffy, apples, or popcorn. The crowning of the Campus Queen was one of the main events of the eve- ning. Grades seven through twelve had each nominated a candidate and the queen was chosen by casting ballots - apennya vote. Dean Smith, chosen bythe student body as master-of-ceremonies, announced the senior candidate, Marilyn Sampson, as winner. The community responded so well that the amount of money taken in far ex- ceeded the expectations of the school. ' Sponsored by TODD FUNERAL HOME. D6Motte, Tel- 6
