Mrs. Burton teaches a bach. home-ec class. mln teaching home economics, I can work with stu- dents, so that our future will have efficient and well run homes. Also, that our future homemakers can handle mother and wife roles successfully and possibly decrease our divorce rates. Mrs. Marks Mrs. Houghton, girl's home-ec teacher, lectures on cooking methods. Boil and bubble, toil and trouble. . Mrs. Marks stresses the importance of correct material selection in her sewing class. Mrs. Dawson, another home-ec teacher, observes an advanced cooking class. Home economics should be, above all, practical. It should help students establish values which give meaning to personal, family and community living. It should foster competancy both in basic homemaking skills and in those behavioral skills th at lead to mo re effective living. Mrs. Burton 21
