These include most games won consecutively, best scoring average per season, and best field goal percentage for the season. Hazen was a young, scrappy team best known for their blazing fast break. Highlander victories were keyed by two factors. When they had few turnovers or fouls during a game they seemed to win. Even losses were highlighted by the fact the team never gave up. As Coach Huckle termed it, Despite wins or loss- es the team displayed a consistently line attitude toward the game throughout the season. Rainierjf if ' r , The Highlanders opened the second half of their season with a win over Evergreen. Next came a big victory over first place Glacier, putting the High- landers back in contention for a trip to the state tourney. The cagers stretched their win streak to four, beating Kent- ridge. But Hazen's tourney hopes burst with a disappointing loss to Tyee and then Renton. Playing before a record home crowd, the loss to Renton was a disappointing climax to Hazen's second annual Pep Week. The team rallied to beat Highline, but then hit the doldrums, losing their last three out of four games. But one bright point was Hazen's game with Evergreen. Using many different com- binations of players, Hazen played fine ball to defeat Evergreen. The high point of the game was Hazen pouring in 98 points to break the NPSL scoring record.
