CHIEF COOK. Mrs, Lessie Hill, head cafeterian, gets ready to serve the cole-slaw while Mrs, Ethel King, right, sets the table for elementary students. Aff' -ve Clean buildings, good food impresses visitors Washing windows, carrying mail, or scraping gum off desks, janitors had little time for rest and relaxation. Marked off in sections, hallways resembled patchwork quilts in the summer months as janitors sampled nine different types of wax to find the Arrow Wax shine. Attacking dirt on all levels, George Heinmiller, head of mainte- nance, said, We have no new equipment this year, just new mus- clesf' Stopped-up water pipes Hooded the bathroom several times during the year, causing extra work for the custodial staff, not to mention the delays involved in getting to class. Scrub ing over 2,500 plates a week, cafeteria workers planned economical, nourishing lunches for elementary, junior and senior high students.
