Specifications The 1972 edition of the HORNET was printed by offset li- thography process by Henington Pub- lishing Company, Wolfe City, Texas. One hundred ninety two pages are printed on magnum offset paper 80 pound. Endsheets and division pages are color mixture no. 65 tan. Basic type font is 10112 univers for body copy, 8X9 univers light for indentifica- tions, 819 univers light italic for iden- tification markers and 18!24 Spartan for headings. 1,043 black and white photographs and 5 four-color photo- graphs are arranged within the 9 x 12 format. Cover color and color on pages 10-11 were donated by Riceland Foods, Stuttgart, Arkansas. All re- maining color was hand separated by Henington Publishers, from transpar- encies, primarily 4 x 5 format. Cover is Holiston grade C with no. 20 Rhino grain applied. Cover was done by Universal Bookbindery, lnc., San Antonio, Texas. Portrait photography, grades one through eleven, is the work of Ronnie Wensel, Little Rock, Arkan- sas. Kern's Studio, Clarendon, Arkan- sas, printed all Senior portraits. Press run was 375 copies. By way of acknowledgement . A short time ago a yearbook was considered merely a collection of snapshots similar to those found in photo albums. Today it can no longer be considered as such. With the idealism and enthusiastic qualities of today's students, the yearbook has become a form of art captured by these traits. lt is a book compiled of the achievements throughout the year and serves as a permanent record for the students, faculty and community. Conclusion h 1'A The awareness of our surrounding environment has become apparent to most within the last few years. Chil- dren, as well as students and adults, are beingffaced with the seriousness of world pollution. Living in this area of delta land with many wide open spaces, fresh air and non-polluted water has made many of us unaware of what life in a heavily polluted city can be like. However, steps have been taken even in this area to help prevent this problem from occurring. Perhaps that is why the symbole,standing for ecology, represents the need for a cleaner America which the ecological groups and organizations stress in their daily routinef The four-color picture on the cover symbolizes our community as an area free of pollution. Because the 1971-72 students of Hazen High School are the future leaders in the fight against environmental pollution, the '72 ver- sion of the HORNET was published. Environmental change. . . 191
