MY DIARY --C arol Clarke September---- 4th--Teachers have a pre-school meeting to start the term off right. 10th--Hurrayl School begins, and every- one puts his nose to the grindstone. 14th--We have our first football game of the season. The score was tied-- Barton 12, Hazen 12. 18th---Senior class ordered their rings today. They can't wait till they come in. 26th-- Everyone gets a chance to break the camera, for today we had our individual school pictures taken! October ---- Znd and 3rd--Bus Drivers School. Oh, boy, did they have a hard time teaching Curriel 10th--Well, today the 4-H Clubs were organized. 12th---School's out for the first teacher's meeting of the year. 30th--Today we were all busy preparing for the Halloween Carnival, and to- night atlast it comes. All are disappointed because it is very cold and to top it all off, it's RAININGI We had to have it in the High School building. November---- 9th--At last the Senior rings are herel Tonight we played our Homecoming game with Watson Chapel and lost. 15th--Mr. Wilson took group pictures of the different organizations, He also took a picture of the band in their H formation. The Seniors got their pictures taken in their caps and gowns. Watch the birdie! 17th--Fl-IA meet- ing today at Clarendon. 20th--This is the day we start working on our annual! It is also the day of the Fire Mar- shall's meeting. 21st--An all day trip on the road to Hor- atio for the football players, cheerleaders, Mr. McDon- nell, and many others. Then the night for the game. We started off with a lead of 6 to 0 when Ted ran for a touch- down, but we came back losers. 22nd and 23rd--Out for Thanksgiving. 29th-- Operetta Meet Arizona qpardner.J 30th--Now what happened to that rabbit? Today the student body is fooled by a Magic- ian. December ---- Mr. Coulter, President of the Temperance League in Arkansas, spoke to the student body on Alcohol and Its Effects. 20th--Music Recital. 21st--Christmas Cantata with the Junior and Senior Glee C lub s participating. School dismissed for Christmas holidays. 30th--School begins once more. January ---- lst--Seniors measure for their caps and gowns. The girls' are white nylon and the boys' are purple gaberdine. 9th--Seniors order their invitation. 23rd--Junior and Sen- ior girls hear representative from Baptist Hospital. He spoke on Nursing as a Career. February ---- 1st--This will go down in history---we sent the final annual pages off! 9th--Football Banquet. 20th-23rd--- Junior Boys' Basketball Tournament at Holly Grove. 2 lth- Mar. lst--Junior Girls' Tournament here and Senior Boys' District Tournament in Clarendon. March ---- 5th-8th--Senior Girls' District Basketball Tournament at Des Arc. 13th--FFA Banquet. 20th-21st--MusicFesti- val. 27th-28th--State Teachers' Meeting. Apri1--- 8th--Junior Play. 18th--Band Concert. 29th--Senior Play. May ---- lst--SpringMusic Recital. 18th-Baccalaureate. 23rd- School's out!
