Garrison. and Districts at BJC. dominating each one. and bringing home the sweepstakes trophy. Eleven people attended the State speech Meet in Mandan. Julie Rathjen placed sixth in Persuasive Speaking. LouAnn Latimer placed third in Extemporaneous Speaking, and Tammy Ragains placed FIRST in Extemp. Speaking. Chery Tveit was awarded a Superior medal in Serious Interpretation.

The Hazen Drama Club presented the play UNDER MILKWOOD by Dylan Thomas for their contest. Regional were held at BJC. Here they took first, receiving all first place votes. The next step was state. They took 2nd place to Hettinger High School. Laura Oster received a Gold Actress award and David Zimmerman Gold Actor. Gerry Pylka received a Superior Actor medal.
