CLASS SONG In our school days now gone by Our sensor year dsd not seem nsgh Frequently we wsshed st here Never thsnksng st so near Then upon us st descended, And sn swsftness st ss ended, Now we ssng to commemorate, The Class of fsfty esght ln the past great thsngs we ve done Both as separate and as one We ve held together when lossng prsde, And taken trsumph sn our strsde So although we must dssperse We have thought of the dsverse, Tss of these thsngs we celebrat Thss the Class of fsfty esght Future holds surpsrse for all Some wsll rsse and some wsll fall As sn lsfe we do each deed Hsgh school memorses wsll recede But agasn we soon shall meet To remember and to greet, Then well ssng on that dsstant date, Of the Class of fsfty-esght CLASS POEM The outlook wasnt brsllsant for the sensors startsng May For themes and book reports were due before they went thesr way When teachers made them aware of thss, and parents dsd the same The sensors fsnally realszed, st really was no game A stragglsng few, of course, then knew, that st was tsme to start, Of runnsng up the same old school stasrs Of besng late to class, Of ssttsng sn the same old chasrs, Of hopsng they would pass The sensors sasd theyd wrste thesr themes, the nsght before they re ue, Of course, some were completed but they were msghty few But on the 22nd of May, there was a soyous yell, lt bounded up the old school stasrs, and rang the old school bell And when the yells had softened, and the school was quset once more, They knew the sensors must have passed, and were walksng out the door Thesr work was now completed, tho some papers were sn late, An they were gosng out sn lsfe, to meet thesr mortal fate, nd even tho they re on thesr own, they wsll keep thss sn msnd who looks ahead never falls behsnd somewhere sn thss favored land, the sun ss shsnsng brsght e sensor class wsll scatter but thesr hearts wsll stsll be lsght An somewhere some are laughsng, whsle laughter others lack, u there ss no soy sn Hazen the msghty sensors wont be back 21 Independent Osl Company . . el But then there was the other half, who though they'd done their part, . . , . f . s d d . . . .
