INDIAN CHEERLEA DERS The 1978-79 cheerleaders have been very active in supporting the football team and the basketball team. During the summer of 1978 the girls attended a one-week clinic in Jonesboro, Arkansas. During this time the girls were taught many new things such as tumbling, pom pom routines, and new cheers. During the week they competed with many schools and received one outstanding ribbon, one excellent ribbon and three superior rib- bons. In the fall of 1978 they traveled to Caruthersville to compete in the cheerleading contest at a peanut festival. The group received first place. These girls are proud of their school and have been happy to support the Hayti Indians throughout the past year. 15
