THUNDERBOLT is then layed aside. Re- birth is change and revival. That is what the ’75 annual staff strived todo ... symbolize Rebirth ... anew beginning. This was their “CREATION. We the annual staff of the 1988-89 yearbook have set out to once again make a change. This is a change for “tradition”. Te Traditions are customs passed on from one generation to another. The THUNDERBOLT tradition lived for 27 years. The ’75 yearbook staff saw fit that their generation should make a change, to show the impact of the changing times. By bringing back the THUNDERBOLT we too are facing another change ... a change of greater strength in the past to create a brighter future. 6é 22 Our goal is to achieve a “new THUNDERBOLT by combining all the memories of yesterday and inter- twining them with the dreams of to- morrow in order to create a year- book that will truly become “A Cut Above the Rest”’. We remember her as an athlete, stu- dent, and friend. The Class of 1989 entered the eighth grade at Haysi High School with individual hopes, dreams, and ambitions. Now the time of our gradua- tion has arrived, and as we reflect back on the five years of our long journey to the present, we recall many memories, both happy and sad. We would like to take this time and space to remember three beloved classmates who began this journey with us: On November 22, 1986 another tragic accident claimed the life of Craig Edwards. We remember Craig’s artwork, his personality, and — his bright smile. _ On May 8, 1988, a third tragic acci- dent claimed the life of Carter Boyd. We remember Carter as a high spir- ited, and unique individual. We will always remember these three special people in our own special ways. SENIORS NINETEEN EIGHT Y-NINE i , 18 SEINI@ OP AIN Ease MR.
