ASH DEPARTMENT ENGLISH . Miss Jackie Collins graduated from Morehead State University with an A.B. degree. She teaches English 10 and English 11. Miss Collins sponsors the F.T.A. Mrs. Bonnie Sue Mullins attended Pikeville College. She has a B.A. degree and is another new English teacher. Mrs. Mullins sponsors the Chess Club and the Junior Class. She enjoys listening to music. Mr. Homer Deel has a B.A. degree, and he attended Emory and Henry College and the University of Virginia. Mr. Deel teaches English 11 and is a sponsor of the EBLA Club. ! Besides being Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach, Mr. William R. Deel also teaches English 9 11 and German I. He attended Clinch Valley College and graduated with a B.A. degree. Mr. Deel sponsors the Junior Class and the Art Club; he is also J. V. Foot¬ ball Coach. 13

ENGLISH DEPARTMENT ENG With a B.A. degree, Mrs. Jewell Askins is well qualified for her job. She received her degree from Clinch Valley College. In addition to teaching English 10 12, she also instructs German I II classes and is a sponsor of the Pep Club, Book Club, and Junior Class. This year, Mrs. Askins helped the Annual Staff greatly. She enjoys reading, writing, and cooking. Mr. Bill Wright is a new addition to our English department. He is also the advisor of the Annual Staff and a sponsor of the Senior Class. Mr. Wright attended East Tenn. State University and the University of Va. He has a B.S. degree. His interests are fishing, hunting, golf, and flying. Mr. John Johnson prepares the 8th and 9th graders for their other years of high school English. He has a B.S. degree which he received from Pikeville College.

MA THEMA TICS DEPAR TMEIS A teacher with varied interests is Mr. Ronnie Bartley. He attended Clinch Valley College and East Tennessee State University. With a B.S. degree, Mr. Bartley teaches Math 8, Math 9, Algebra II, Advanced Algebra, and Trigonometry. He is a sponsor of the Beta Club and President of the Dickenson Education Association. His hobby is electronics. Math 9, Math 10, and Chemistry are the specialties of Mr. Roy Deel. He graduated from Emory and Henry College with a B.S. degree. Mr. Deel is a sponsor of the 4-H Club and an active member of the Haysi Rescue Squad. Mr. David C. Yates received a B. S. degree in Math from East Tennessee State Univer¬ sity. He also has a Masters of Education degree which he received from the University of Virginia. He is the sponsor of the Key Club and teaches Math 8, Algebra I, and Geo¬ metry. Mr. Yates also enjoys being a coach. He is J.V. Foot¬ ball Coach and Assistant Base¬ ball Coach. 14
