Our last stop before returning to the States was Anchorage, Alaska. There we met Kay Carmin, who was dressed in a Wac's uniform. We asked her when she had decided to join the service. She said Dick had been permanently stationed in Germany, so she joined the Wacs in order to try to get over to Germany. Due m a mix up in orders she was sent to Anchorage. Diek's orders were changed and he was shipped back to Hayes Center. He is there now waiting for her. She has two more years before being sent home. we then returned to Hayes Center and gave the above report to the Times-Re- publican, as we knew all the readers would be anxious to hear about the class wsu. .
