Speeches, a Slide Show and a Toss of Caps Ends 12 Years for Seniors The seniors’ kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Roll, was there on stage, Roy Kinney delivered the Salutatorian’s speech comparing the seniors growth and achieve- ments to a mountain climbed. Senator Soash spoke. He stressed the need for communi- cation between people quoting from John Donne’s No Man Is an Island. Then a slide show prepared by Debbie Paquette of the seniors as they are and as they were brought laughter and a tear or two as a recording of Streisand's “The Way We Were played in the background. Debbie Hockett delivered the Valedictorian's speech. She began by quoting the senior motto, “What appears to be the end, may really be a new begin- ning, and challenged the sen- iors to do their best. As the seniors marched out, the band played the theme to “Rocky. Finally with yells of glee to the senior song, “Cele- bration, the seniors tossed their caps and greeted the public as Graduates of Hayden High School. 1.
