Who Excelled Hayden Union High School The Hayden Union High School built in 1921 was one of the most modern in all of Yampa Valley. As Hayden’s first water sys- tem was installed in the fall and winter of 1913-14, and the sewer system in 1921-22, the new high school was modern in all respects. It had a swimming pool, an excel- lent gymnasium, a science room, and many large classroooms. There have been many fine teachers and administrators and Hayden schools can be proud of the good scholar, ath- letes and students who have graduated pre- pared to accept the responsibilities of adult life. The future of the Hayden Schools depends on the continued support of the community and the active participation of administration, fac- ulty and students who accept the challenge of the future.
