CLASS PROPHECY By 1980 we have finally made it to the moon. The graduating class of 1965 has agreed to have a class reunion there. When most of us have arrived, Allen Aber begins by telling us that he has a band of his own and is more popular than any other musician in history. We borrow the moon man’s telescope to catch Allen's latest prerecorded show as it is being shown on T. V. all over the world. Mary Ellen Amedei finally married that secret fellow to whom she kept writing notes in American Government class. Connie Cross has an important position here on the moon working with various machines. After listening to an exhilarating speech by Joy Dellis. we look down on the streets of New York City and see a huge crowd of people flocking to see her latest work of modern art. Every- one wants us to see their accomplishments so we must again return to the telescope. We see a vast stretch of rangeland in Texas and learn that it is Frank Fox's sheep - oops! - cattle ranch. Swinging our telescope a little further west we see the great expanse of the Sequoia National Forest over which Eric Sundberg is the chief ranger. Going up north to Alaska we see the spraw- ling network of Jack Smith's power plant. Putting the telescope aside, we sit back to just talk for awhile. Vicki Fredrickson Jones tells us that she was a big success at Central Business School and is now working for her in-laws. That taciturn fellow Robert Hastings has surprised us all by telling us that he is NBC's top news commentator. He tells us that the latest news is about our former classmates Carol Hockett, Oscar Beck. James Ragan, and Pat Watts. Carol has been named teacher of the year, and Oscar is the new coach of the Harlem Globe Trotters. After going to State in wrestling, Jim continued wrestling, and is now the World Heavyweight Wrestler now known as Tiger Jim. Pat is a great success as the United States' first woman representative to the United Nations. Teresa Shepard is also working for NBC on the Tonight Show. The former Jodi LeBlanc tells us that she gave up singing and married a Pennsylvania minis- ter and is now the happy mother of six little Stewarts. Sharon Mosher has become the English teacher back home in Hayden and is now teaching Mrs. Morgan’s grandchildren. Vicki Stanley has become a successful model for some of Hollywood’s most exclusive dress designers. Larry Turner’s job at NORAD is important, but not too important to prevent his coming to the moon to be with us. Larry tells us that Ronnie Turner is the Navy Chief of Staff and a top advisor to our swinging President, Earl White. Gary Valora has married his high school sweetheart and is the owner of Texaco companies all over the world. Sherry Westwood Flaharty and her husband have made this trip to the moon their belated honeymoon after becoming millionaires in south- ern California. James Wixson and Janet Simpson wouldn't tell us what they were doing, but on the way back to Earth, we learn that Jim is our competent pilot, and Janet is our charming stewardess.
