SECRETARY The public school is the instrument by which the present generation hopes to impart a por- tion of the accumulated knowledge of last generations, and the ability to gain that knowledge, to the younger generation. Thus, the school will seek to educe and develop in the most constructive manner the re- sources with which the student is endowed by nature; to lessen the discrepancy between dimin- ishing enthusiasm for scholastic pursuit and the mounting desire for occupational competence; and finally, to effect within the student a deep satisfaction as a result of the continuing accom- plishment of the broadened goals before him. Class Prophecy The busy students of the class of 1962 find life is not a straight road but one with many detours, but some have at long last found their way to success and fortune. Let us travel through the years to see what this class has accomplished. Our first stop is Fairbanks, Alaska, where Chuck Warrick is playing mechanic with the penguins. He tells us that another of his classmates is also here. Alan Osborn, owner of the world’s largest blubber factory. We take off from Alaska to Greenland where Mr. and Mrs. Duane Hockett, the former Judy Cross, have a set-up on the El Riviera, a deluxe and exclusive night club for the Eskimos. Our next stop is Paris where Mike Harris is following in Van Gogh's footsteps. He has made his way to fame and fortune by his great painting, The Face on the Bar Room Floor. As we leave Paris we are surprised to see Precilla Trujillo, stewardess of the 180 passenger blimp. We travel to the West Indies where Eleanor Rollins is writing her latest novel, The Duck that had Goose Bumps. From all indications this.should be a smashing hit as MGM has purchased the copyright. This film is starring Kit English now known as Sir Gallahad. From here we go to Tokyo where the Hing-Sing Sons; Larry Allen, Billy Foster and Robert Westwood are a startling smash. Their favorite audience is the Geisha girls, the dancers for the same show. As we board ship we find Bobby Bertram, the chief navigator. He had planned to go to the moon but the ocean got in his way. We stop to fuel up at Midway Islands and find that Jerry Brazelton has a huge alligator farm. As we are flying over Hawaii, who should we see but Chuck Morgan. He is now a basketball coach. His team hasn't done too well this year but what can you expect from Hula girls. We journey to New York City where Judy Gilbert is a fashion model on Fifth Avenue. Judy tells us Sue Backes was a success as a ballet dancer, but decided that wasn’t the life for her so she married her teacher and now they are raising little ballerinas. We are sorry to leave the sights of New York but Las Vegas is calling us. There we find Rubio Santi- stevan, director of the famous dance hall girls, The Flipper Floppers. We travel to Los Angles where the famous scientist, Eddie Lasnik, is working on his latest inventions; a passenger plane to bring all of the astronauts back from the moon. On our way to Miami, Florida we stop at Washington, D. C., where Mr. and Mrs. Gary Mosher are making their home. Mrs. Gary Mosher is the former Christine Warrick. She is very proud of her and her husband as they now own a chain of F. S. T. Super Markets, named after their five sets of twins. At last we reach Miami where Robert Marshall is swimming instructor at the University. Of course he has all girl classes. As our time and money began to get short we return to Denver where we met Kay Mosher, the first Governor of Colorado, and Mary Ann Rivera, her right-hand lady. After eating royally with the Governor and her assistant we travel back to Hayden, the home of these former people. We have had a wonderful trip and have brought back many enjoyable memories. Yes, these graduates have certainly done well. Rubto Chris and Chuck Precilia Robert is one on the left Google Eddie Chuck M Dick and Connie walking the dog. Then the student must receive a majority vote by the National Honor Society before they are a member. The National Honor Society gives a scholarship to one of the senior members each Officers year. They hold a public installation and ini tiation for officers and members. This year the Honor Society will meet with other towns and discuss different projects. The organiza- tion's goal is to build character, scholarship, leadership, and service.
