ecUcatcoH, Paul, the custodian: His job isn’t quite One that can be finished and get home at night. The work is not easy, and there may be a few That never will know all he has to do. He's on the job early, and his days are long. And he says very little when things go wrong. He just keeps on trying to do his best All the many jobs a school can request. He earned his diploma at Greely—Colorado State — For he, too, must keep his work up to date. As you know, for the custodian, school’s never out; You can always find him somewhere about. He must varnish and paint, and refinish the floors; Taking care of the lawn is another one of his chores. He goes over the building, it must be finished by fall; Then he's glad to hear school kids again in the hall. With those teenagers he'd never try to match wit: Keeping up with their activities takes plenty of grit. When in trouble they often come to him with the truth. His wise counseling has been a help to our youth. A word of kindness and they are off with a smile; This is when his day seems most worth while. He liked to drum for their dances and drive a school bus; He gets a kick out of hearing the things they discuss. He appreciates the faculty, they’re not critical or cross, And he always seems to get along with the boss. He is your number one booster, always there to stand by. And mighty proud of the standard at Hayden High. Twenty years at the school—never missing a day, He's seen many classes graduate and go on their way. When school days are over and you’ve passed the last test, Remember Paul wishes for each the very best. And so, we dedicate THE TIGER OF 1959, To our SCHOOL CUSTODIAN—PAUL HEIN. The High School Annual Staff of 1959 presents this book to you for your recollections of all the activi- ties, events, and the wonderful times you have had during this year. The Annual Staff See fie rifttettdenC d 7 (e uutae The survival and well-being of this nation depends more upon the education of our youth than upon the strength of our military forces.
