4 Q76 In the seventh grade we found a new world with different surroundings and, typical of all 7th graders we entered upon the surroundings abruptly and with a roar. But after this year we began to settle down. During our Znd year the point system was introduced and came into being. Still feeling small we never- theless had the 7th graders to rile so we didn't feel too bad. We came into our own in the 9th grade whenthe schoolgot it's first look at us when we presented three one act plays which were a huge success. During our sophomore year we became a part of the school, we put on the best dance of the year and as tradition goes we were the waiters and waitresses at the Jr.-Sr. Banquet and afterwards many of us attended the Prom---thru the window. As juniors we were very active as every junior class is. We participated in and produced many things, including the Junior play We Shook the Family Tree starring J. Patton,C. Callahan, B. Ray, J. Shaeffer, P. Fantom, J. Meager, D. Walker, C. Montville,N. Farrell, H. Blackson, and P. Zacharyg the play being coached by Miss Purcell and Miss Edmonds, We reached the height of our junior year by giving the class of '53 their Banquet and Prom, the theme of which was Evening in Paris . During the baseball season the Warriors fthanks to the help of a few juniorsjwon the County Championship. As our last and final year draws to a close we look back and notice that this year we were even more active than last year. The football season was very colorful and scattered with senior stars, these being: T. Parks, B. Goll, B. Ray, R. Kegley, P. Za- chary, K. Hagen, and J. Meager. Two of these boys were awarded positions on the All-State and All-County teams, the boys were T. Parks making Znd string All-State and 2nd string All-Countywhile B. Ray made Honorable Men- tion All-State and 3rd string All-County. Near the close of the season a gala Homecoming was given and two seniors were made King and Queen the King was J. Meager and the Queen was M. VanEver. This year we gave another play called Henrietta the Eight Coached by Mrs. Posey and with the Junior play cast with the added help of N. Abbott and J. McCullough. We are hopefully awaiting the Banquet and Prom to be given us this year and know it will be a huge success and a fitting end to our high school life. 21
