At H.H.S. the students have a wide variety of dancing-from the Virginia reels at the Barn Dance in October, to waltzes at the Prom in May. We can still remember our first dance during our youthful Sophomore year when to our sorrow we were not allowed to remove the bleachers in the gym. The Record Hop with its Bunny dance was a new and important social event for us as Seniors. The Prom, social highlight of our Senior year, was the climax of our life at H.H.S., for then we realized that we were no longer students, but adults ready to enter college or our chosen field. This staff includes the ianitors, firemen, and the lunchroom workers, all of whom are essential for the well being of the school and the students. ln addition to the maintenance staff, our school has a health department. The main spring in this department is Mrs. McGovern, the school nurse. Besides teaching home nursing, she is in charge of the First Aid room. In order to help maintain good health conditions among the students, each year a T.B. patch test is given, and each year the Freshmen are instructed in First Aid. At the beginning of each year every student's height and weight are recorded on his official school health records. Both the service and health departments are necessary and im- portant to our school. Yes, that's right the girls, not the boys. The fairer sex have decided to borrow some of their styles from the boys' wardrobes. The boys, not wishing to be outdone, have decided to ioin in the fun. The colorful pink shirt along with the leather and suede jackets are quite the latest for them. For the winter, the girls and boys are wearing the heavy knit turtle neck sweaters not only for skiing, but also for school wear on those cold days. Slickers, corduroy raincoats, and the new trench coats-take your pick-with any one of them the H.H.S. student is right in style for rainy April weather. Spring is the season when a young girl's fancy turns to the sleeveless summer dresses in beautiful pastel shades that are very becoming. The ballerina length in colorful gowns with sheer stoles is still very popular for formal wear. The boys are content with the white dinner iacket and dark pants, although the grey jacket is becoming more popular each year. Those crazy Scottish plaid ties are at- tracting more attention at formals also.
