They held down first string berths on all of the teams and gained valuable experience for next season. With teams that kept the outcome of games in doubt until the last whistle, coaches were looking ahead to a good season next year because so many freshmen would be returning as sophomore veterans. After a few days of losing their way around the campus they knew as much about the school as any worldly” sophomore.
