The staff at Hartland High often go unnoticed and unap- preciated. Many of them have talents in which you may be surprised to discover. Some members of our staff have participated in sports, receieved special honors, and have interesting hobbies. Did you know, for example that: Mr. Merrill is involved with his church choir, Mrs. Whittle was an exchange student, Mrs. Woodward is active in producing small musicals, Mr. Carr attended Michigan State Universi- ty, Mr. Dankers coaches little league football, Mrs. Miller was in the National Honors Society, Mrs. Batten worked in a home for delinquent boys (social action group), Mr. Bessert likes cooking and owns his own restaurant, Mr. Biebuyck enjoys music, Mr. Eichler ' s hobby is training dogs. Mrs. Richards vacationed in San Bias Islands with the Kumi Indians for three days, Mrs. Secord is a church music director, Mrs. Vanspybrook was salutatorian of her class, Mr. Wilson is interested in bow and arrows, Miss Stack- house enjoys sailing, Mr. Denzer was the treasurer of his senior class, Mr. Taylor participates in cross country ski- ing, Mrs. Flanagan received the John Philip Sousa award, Mrs. Faust was Future Teachers of America president in her senior year, Mrs. Skurka was a cheerleader, Mr. Ciar- kowski refinishes furniture, Mrs. Cotton plays golf, and Mrs. Deese was valedictorian of her senior class.

am I ■■- As the year proceeds, our teachers become more familiar to us, and we begin to realize that they are people too. They have needs and desires just like the students they see everyday When our teachers were in school, their activities were pretty similiar to ours: Mrs. Kotz was the editor of her school newspa- per. Mrs. Cooley was a valedictorian, Mr. Pfeifle was all-state in basketball and track, Mrs. Wilson attend- ed Central Michigan University. Mr Callaghan en- |Oys gardening, Mr. Pomeroy invests in real estate, Mr. Mishler fishes with flies for trout, Mrs. Eichler likes slam dancing on her free time, Mr Leppek was the state F.F.A. officers, Mr. Irvin plays ping-pong. Mrs. Jagfeld was Homecoming queen, and Miss Rowe often sings at weddings.
