This year ' s varsity football team triumphed over the Portland Raiders to win our first Homecoming game in four years. The Raiders were no contest against the mighty eagles as we won 29-6. The team consisted of thirty-two members: six- teen seniors and sixteen juniors. They were lead by captains Patrick Neiswinter. Todd Krause, and Glen Borkowski. Head coach, Thomas Barbeiri was as- sisted by Mr. Scherler, Mr. Shearer, and Mr. Capra. When the final whistle of the season blew, the Eagles found themselves with a fairly successful season. Despite their 4-5 record, they were champi- ons. The team was second in the Kensington Valley Conference and had shut-out an undefeated South Lyon team 21-0. The teams ' greatest moment, how- ever, was an 8-7 victory over their archrivals, the Brighton Bulldogs. The Brighton Argus called it: One of the classic games in the K.V.C. It was a game full of intensity, suspense, and anticipation; a match decided by two super plays in the last twenty- six seconds of the game. First, Mike Batten threw a thouchdown pass on a fourth down and eight. Then Kirk Evenson dove into the corner of the end-zone barely giving the Eagles their two point conversion. Accomplishments, such as these exemplified the closeness, dedication, discipline, and desire these young men possesed. More so, these great tasks illustrated the fact that these young football players were true champions. hMR 099

CHEERLEADING CHAMPION Cheerleaders The 1987-88 cheerleading squads have overpowered the school with their unbelievable ability to promote school spirit. What they have lacked in age they have made up for in spirit, strength, and pride. They have earned a great deal of respect from the students and faculty for their capability to always push forward and achieve their goals. 122 099
