Powder puff - a lucky win for the Juniors The 1987 powderpuff homecom- ing game could be closely com- pared to a mud wrestling competi- tion. For those spectators soaked from the pouring rain it was quite entertaining to watch the powder- puff girls slipping and sliding in the mud. The events began with the ju- niors defeating the freshmen by a large margin and the seniors, after a rough game, defeating the sopho- mores. The teams were now revved up for the final game and the thick ambiance in the air could have been sliced with a knife. The seniors and juniors glared at one another as though what was about to begin was World War III, not the final pow- derpuff game. The sophomores and freshmen also played a final game and the sophomores overbearing strength and quickness resulted in an easy victory for them. The most important game of the night, seniors versus juniors, turned out to be an unexpected victory for the juniors. The juniors scored a touchdown in the last second of the game with a great play by the Knapp sisters. The seniors ' disappointment was evi- dent, but they quickly regained their ground by showing that they had spirit and by knowing that the class of ' 88 is still qreat!

ASSEMBLY ENDS IN JUG BUST October 2, 1987. The day of the Home- coming game and also the day of the pep assembly. Whether this day sticks out in your mind as good, or bad, it will be remembered by many. As the Seniors strolled into the steamy gym, they could feel the excitement in the air. All four classes were yelling, hold- ing up signs, shaking noise makers, and get- ting hyped. The royal homecoming court pa- raded around the gym in their finest apparel. Pat Nieswinter, the senior class president, then an- nounced the powder puff teams. The cheer- leaders followed with a rap to the football play- ers. The atmosphere was set and with the first spirit competition being won by the class of ' 89 the seniors were more hyped than ever. As the spirit jug competition began, some overeager students began aggressively ripping posters and their attitudes definately shown through. This years spirit jug competition was won by the sophomore class, the class of ' 90. This day will always be remembered as a joy for some and a day of disappointment for others.
