HART HIGH SCHOOL Eighth Grade Class History We started in the kindergarten wlth Nhss Mar tm as our teacher and as first graders we num bered fifty five Part of the class had 'Vhss Kelly and the rest had 'Nhss Peterson For second grade we had Vllss Johnson For thlrd Nllss Hawley fourth Mlss Shlsler fifth 'vliss Bur mnelster slxth Nlrs Ifvans and seventh Nfiss Bowen When school started on September 3 1928 thxrty sxx enrolled as elghth graders fourteen re malnlng from the kindergarten We began the first day very anxlously for we were to slt ln the assembly and do as the Hlgh School dld It was rather hard at first to remember where to go and what materlal to carry It took us a long tune to get accustomed to studylng ln the assembly The Hlgh School has been very generous by ln vltmg us to their partxes and we appreciate It In February lt was declded that there would be an unter class tournament xn basket ball The boys took part and txed the Seniors by winning second honor The glrls however dldnt take plrt In the nuddle of February we gave the play of' Rlp Yan Wlmkle Iewls Polly taking the part of Rip and Opal 'NlcDonald as Dame Van Wlnkle We first read thls story and then m Engllsh class rewrote lt as a play Thls has been a very profitable year the credlt gomg to our teachers Mrs Purdy nd Nlr Olen dorf We now are looklng forward to the llfe awaltlng us next year and We hope xt wlll be as successful as thls year has been Pug: Twenty Seven ....- -..-......q. 1 f ,Q , x 1 I' ' , , .
