Sex I umor Class Hlstory We the Junror class of 1929 began our Hrgh School career rn the fall of 6 as Freshmen wltu an enrollment of fifty erght members Wfhen we were well started Wlth our work we elected the followrng class offrcers Presrdent Emrel Van derhouw lrt srce presrdent 'Nell Sprtler secre tary Clarre Nlack treasurer Lourse Ixokrc We chose rose and srlver as class colors Our most Important event of the year was our class party whrch was well grven and very sue cessful due to the helpful assrstance of our class advrsor Xlrs Hutchrns studles wrth new enthusrasm now as Sophomores We hare lost a few of our members but the ma JOIIIY are strll wrth us Hrs Hutehlns was agaln our class teacher At our first class meetrng we elected our offrcers Presrdent Ogden Amstutz vrce presrdent Iorarne Sprtler secretary Norman Brllrngs and treasurer Clarre Nlaek In the sprlng we gtve our annual el rss party whrch wrs well recerved by everyone Severtl of our members were honored by belng asked o serwe at the Junror Senror banquet We were also well represented rn 'rthletrcs md felt that we hrd r very successful year but looked forw rrd wrth great antrerpatron to berng Junrors School rs rn sessron once more and we are now drgnrfied Junrors Our class rs slrghtlv enlrrged by several non resldent students We were care ful rn chooslng our offrcers Rrchard Jensen Helen Wretlng Norman Blllrngs and Nlargaret Schaner because we had more great tasks to per' form than ever before We gave two programs rn the 'tudrtorxum whrch were enjoyed by both faculty and students Another brg success was our Junror plty W ateh Your Step Wrlton ln whrch seven members of our class took part Our Junior boys won the lnter class basket ball tour nament the prrze bern, a srlver cup Several of our grrls were on the first team rn basket ball whrch most of us purchased Now as we come to the close of the year we feel that our greatest success was the Junior Hop whrch was grven 'thy l7th wrth the assistance of 'Nhss Krnder whom we chose as our class ad vrsor The banquet was served rn the Congre gational Church drnrng rooms and the remamder of the evenrng was spent rn dancmg rn the 'tudr torrum whrch was berutrfully decorated Dude Dretrrcks orchestra of Grand Raprds furnrshed the musrc for the cvenrng whrch was very en Joy tble to rll present 'lhere rs Just one thrng that has mtrred the success of thrs year rnd th rt wrs the loss of our lellow student lmrel Vftnderhouwart whom we all gre ttlv rnlss Page Twenty One ,131 s , s ! - ' .
