Class Prophecy The tlme IS May 1976 I the Sp1r1t of the class of 1956 w1ll relate to you the experzences of these graduates Flrst let us look at our alma mater I-Iarrls Elmore I-hgh School We see that the famed desk of our supermtendent 18 occupled by Robert Zunk Mr Zunk has re ce1ved due respect and honor from all students Mr Zunk owes much of h1s success to h1s very capable secretary Margaret W1tt As we step out of the offxce we hear the roll of drums and the blare of trumpets We follow the sound and fmd the Harms Elmore Band m full swmg under the d1rect1on of the great mus1c d1rector Helen Bay We recogn1ze thrs cornpos1t1on as the 5 673rd movement from the mus1cal collec t1on of Tom Croll Tom's name doesn't sound as mus1cal as Beethoven Bach or Mozart but we can assure you h1s muslc IB Just as great Among the faculty we f1nd Ellen Schroeder teaclung Amerlcan government and Engl1sh and Jean Vandersall teach1ng home econom1cs Ellen and Jean have recewed numerous awards from the Nat1onal Teacher's ASSOC13t1OH for the1r ach1evements ln teach1ng As we look to the r1ght we see the Beaner's Beanmes Company the only man ufacturer of coonskm caps w1th two ta1ls Jeannene W1llett the owner of thls company obtarns these unusual skms from Paul Johnson's Fur Farm where these two taxled coons were orlglnally bred Whxle we are wa1t1ng for a red hght we see on the corner Don and B11l's Custom Shop, owned and operated by Don Roepke and B111 L1ng They started by customlzmg the1r own cars and have gradually worked the1r way to the top As we leave the cab we dec1de to do some w1ndow shopp1ng Immed1ately Roff' Dress Shop catches our eye A fash1on show 18 ln progress B111 Rohloff the owner greets us and tells us that the dress belng shown IS modeled by Nancy Draper who has been a model here for many years The next creat1on modeled very elegantly by Betty Jean K.a1ser was des1gned by that famous destgner of women s apparel Duane Lohr Both models have a new hamr style created by Eva Blttner well known beaut1c1an of Elmore Gettmg hungry we leave the dress shop and go 1nto R1chard's Restaurant run by R1chard Longenecker Whlle we are wa1t1ng for our order we glance across the room and see Karl Fl1ck presxdent of the Ford Motor Company dmmg w1th the com mande of the Unlted States Submarme Fleet Rear Admlral Walter M Shrader One of Walter's super1ors IS the Presldent of the Un1ted States Joe M1reles At another table we see Kenneth Avers Toledo D1str1ct Manager of Red 8: Wh1te Super Markets and h1s secretary Darlene Weng who has proved a very valuable ard 1n the off1ce As we leave the restaurant we meet Jane Howard who IB wearmg the navy blue unmform of the WAVES A lxttle way down the street we see a s1gn saymg Myer Lonely Hearts Club We enter and see Sh1rley Wh1te who has been the receptxomst smce the club was formed Jane Peters 15 the correspondence secretary Her ab11 1ty to wr1te allur1ng letters has helped her hold th1s pos1t1on Jean Dextemyer the newest member 1S dellghted wxth what the club has done for her The owner V1rg1n1a Myers has found happ1ness for many patrons but has not yet found the man of her dreams We leave the club and proceed out of town wonderlng what the two rema1n1ng members are domg We stop at a large dome llke structure wh1ch we learn 1s Kardatzke's Observatory Inslde we fmd Lauren Kardatzke and Lester Lemke re Vlewlng thelr latest plans for a tr1p to the moon Now I the Sp1r1t of the class of 1956 wxll contmue to help and guxde these graduates ln the future 24 1 - 1 1 1 I - ' I I - 1 - 1 , 1 1 1 ' . 1 1 , . . 1 1 1 . . 1 1 ' 1 1 , - . .. . . 1 . 1 , , ,, S - - 1 1 1 - 1 . . .
