Before we know it we are seniors about to be leaving Whitney. To most it comes much too soon. Seniors sponsor a series of forums. This helps us become better ac- quainted with our community, in a short time we will be earning a living in this community. Class officers are elected at the close of the junior year, and activities planned. During the senior year, some shops are in school half time. The reason for this is that the girls are on the job gaining experience. Distributive educa- tion, foods, institutional service, needle trades work one week and are in school the next. Office practice employers expressed the desire to have workers in everyday. For that reason these girls are allowed to start work at one o'clock each day. Girls in cosmetology are not allowed to work until they have passed the state test. Because of this they work on pupils here in school instead of going out on the job. ln addition to traditions we have learned to love, there are many activities to look forward to in the senior year. Each shop plans a luncheon to which girls invite employers so that they may learn something about the training at Whitney. This year we are the guests instead of the hostesses at junior, senior day. The prom will highlight the last school year for so many. Every cent is saved so that beautiful formals may be displayed on that important occasion. Since September plans have been laid for the senior banquet and senior trip. These two activities prove most enjoyable. just before commencement is honors assembly. At this time all awards for honor students are made, scholarships are awarded. This is the last Whitney assembly seniors attend, and it is a memory that lasts forever. Before we know it, commencement day arrives. As we walk down the aisle tears gather in our eyes. All enjoyable days at Whitney are over and gone. Her memories shall not perish.
