foreword Engine ' 53 has chugged slowly to a stop after its year ' s journey through the land of Harpeth Hall. As you, the passengers, descend into the fields of summer, perhaps you would like to enjoy your travels once more in retrospect. The train, however, moved swiftly; perhaps you remember only a blur of landscape flying past. But in this MILESTONES, you will find the sharp images which memory alone denies you — pictures which will stand out against the blur of days passed and scenes forgotten. As you turn its pages, you may travel again the well-loved journey of Engine ' 53. So, for the rekindling of your memory, we present to you the MILESTONES of 1953.
