FIFTH AND SIXTH 'GQADR Mrs. Palmerfs fifth and sixth grades organized a health club in the fall. Dean Boylan was chosen president, Francis Hcxenney, secretary, John Burtis, vice-president, and Joan Mendiola, song leader. They have worked out several inter- esting units with d monstrations on first aid, personal cleanliness, etc. Our room enjoyed making room decorations 65 the tradi- tional Santa Clause, chains, window scenes, and wreaths. The climax was reached when the gifts from our tree were distri- buted. we had a picnic and wiener roast down by the river the latter part of March. we enjoyed games and more food and pop than could be comfortably consumed. Our group made Easter cards and wall decorations for Easter. we also enjoyed a treasure hunt which brought forth dyed easter eggs, candies and nuts: we made a trip to Boise an the end of school, which included a visit to the Capitol building amd other places of interest, and also the park. 'SEVENTH AND EIGHTH GRADES The enrollment this year reached a total of twenty-five pupils, the seventh grade accounting for seventeen of them. Three of the twenty-five, Jo Mae and Jimmy Roberts, and Beth McClure, are new pupils, and Norma Olund returned to join oar room. The high-lights of our program of recreation were the 4-H skating party at Frank's Roller Rink on February 10, and another on april 22, an outing and picnic dinner on Cotton- wood Creek on April 3, and the Nlast dayn trip to Boise on May 19. A11 of these trips were made in the school bus with the exception of the picnic on Cottonwood, when Verda Palmer took her jeep and Mr. Gardner, his car. Commencement was on Pridny evening, May 20. Three girls, Betty Stump, Beverly McKenney, and Dorothy Duckworth tied for first honors. Other members of the graduaqing class are Tom Shira, Jo Roberts, Loretga Shurts, Jimmy and Rebecca Jaramillo.

Finer AND secowo Gaines The first and second grades began the year with 19, dropped during the mid-year to 16, and recertly climbed to 19 again,' In spite of a long hard seige of the measles, both have covered all their required work. we gave a Thanksgiving Mothers' Reception, a Valentine party and, an Easter party. we had a ficnic at Richard Pa1mer's beach on Cbttonwood. we earnec money for the extra weiners by making hot-cross buns and selling a dozen. It has been a very interesting and successful year. THIRD AND FOURTH GRADES Twenty-seven students were enrolled in our qropp in September. At the end of the year there weve twenty-five in the room. Pat Whittenburg, Roma Smith, Kay Stallbaum and the Coleman girls moved away, Jeryy Sutliff, Viola Harlle, Johnny Roberts, and Blaine Morehouse entered during the year. we enjoYed a Halloween pawty with the first and second grades. For Thanksgiving we enter- tained our mothers. The n me of our Christmas play was HThe Fairies Christmas Messageu, we hunted Easter eggs in our teachdr's yard. After the egg hunt we ate a picnic lunch.
