E. Gould Rose Aunt Maude Marlin has raised two neices, Rose and Daffy. is of marriageable age and Daffy is a precocious young ster of fourteen.' She has befriended a young English boy named Dizzy Burton and this formidable pair, Dizzy and Daffy, ofe forever playing pranks and getting into mischief. It seems that when she was real young Aunt Maude mdt and fell in love with a boy named Chauncey Grey. They were anxious to wed but there was family opposition, they quarrel- ed and Chauncey went to France to fight in World war I and he never returned.' For over twenty-five years Aunt Maude has loved in the past and mourned her lost Chauncey. This has made it very difficult d6r Austin Chandler, a wealthy bus- iness man, who longs to marry-Aunt Maude.' Upon several oo- casions he has talked Maude into becoming engaged to him hut she always starts carrying on about her Hpoor dear Chauncey,H which leads to a quarrel with Austin and the engagement is Ohlled off. pose is in love with handsome young Sherwood Lang and the couple long to get married, but Aunt Maude frowns upon the union. Rose feels that if only Austin can persuade-Aunt Maude to marry him the way would be paved for her to marry Sherwood. But how to lay the ghost of Hdarling Chaunceyni It is a Daffy who finally hits upon a plan. when a strange man is knocked down in fmont of her house by a hit-and-run driver Daffy brings the unconscious man into the houdei Upon re- gaining consciousness it develops that the stranger has lost his memory, his mind is a total blank and he doesnlt even know his name. Daffy promptly uses this situation to help Rosem out of her dilemma. She introduces the stranger into the Marlin household ax Chauncey Grey,'Aunt Maude's boyhood sweetheart who has returned his lost love. Val Gene Dice was unable to cary his part due to illness so Dale Barnes took over. ' The play was directed by Miss Stevens and Mr.i Gould, who did a good job. STUDENT soot DANC: N The student body sponsored a Halloween dance on October 29, to raise money for photography equipment, so they could make their annual cheaper. 'The dance was held in the community hall, deco- rated in ualloween colors. The dance was enjoyed by a large crowd. There was a beauty contest among the high school girls. Glenna Murdock 'won with Luree Chastain as runner up. SKATING The students enjoyed several skating parties during the year, which took them to Ontario. Those not caring to skate all evening went to picture showes or games in Ontario.
