1976 CARDINAL Harmony High School Harmony, Minnesota Contents Us 3 Memories 18 Sports 28 Involvement 52 Friends 68 Guidance 76 the class of ’76 dedicate our annual to life. For anyone who takes a breath of air and can go on living by that breath, is life itself. Life is here today to touch ... to feel ... to see ... to hear.. . and to hold. This dedication, we hope, will let every living thing, large and small, think about what they are, who they are, and how lucky they are to be given the chance to live. The realization of being a part of life is something of a prized possession. Life passes by too quickly so while we have it, let us cherish this possession to its fullest. 2 Jacquelyn M. They also were undefeated in conference play, making them conference champs. The Cards were a very close knit team on and off the court. Upperclassmen showed good leadership. This was a team of great depth; having all players being qualified to play. Harmony was known as a excellent fast break team and they averaged the highest scoring record since Coach Elston has been here. Defense was also a key point of their winning season. The team had three eighth grade and two freshman starters which proves they had a young team. They ended the season with a 0-8 overall record. Although the team didn’t win any games, the younger players showed a lot of potential. 46 48 BASKETBALL Mel Hovey, Mary Broadwater, Kari Swenson, Sandy Morem Many new faces were seen on the varsity cheerleading squad but with practices over the summer and the new ideas that Barb Prinsen, Pam Hanlon, and Sandy Morem brought back from camps they attended, we started the season well. We served at the Girls’ Basketball games and sold basketball and Wrestler pins as money making projects. Most of us must say that the big event of the year was playing in the donkey basketball games and winning 1st place! WRESTLING Sandy Russet, Barb Prinsen, Pam Hanlon, Mary Jones 49 JR. VARSITY CHEERLEADERS FOOTBALL Our “B” squad cheerleaders for the 1975-1976 season were Karen Whalen, Lori Harstad, Cindy Polito, Jeanne Smedsrud, Suzanne Cremer, and Chris Storhoff. The five returning cheerleaders were joined by Chris Storhoff. Last summer Lori and Karen went to camp and brought back many new cheers. During the school year they have been busy serving at various activities. They’ve also been a great asset to our school spirit throughout the year. Annual Staff We started the year out by selling the annual advertisements to the various businesses throughout the area. We had two picture days throughout the year along with working on layouts to meet our deadlines. We’d like to give special thanks to Mr. Wilt and Mary Lingen who did such a good job on our artwork, Gwen Domink who took care of all our financial business, Karla Brunsvold our copy editor and most of all Sandy Morem who put in many long hours as assistant editor and Mr. Buchholz our advisor. 63 CARDEON Mr. Konkel, advisor, Mitch Harstad, Rachel Harstad, Kathy Mathison, Tami Mikkelson, Sandy Morem, Sandy Scrabeck, Denise Voight, Unda Schoppers, Brenda Hoag, Karla Brunsvold, Gwen Dornink, Dave Soli, Craig Schevel, Mark Matson. This year was a good year for the Cardeon. We started out slowly with an inexperienced staff and not many workers, but with the help of our new advisor, Mr. Konkel, and some very devoted helpers, it got to be a pretty good paper. We tried a lot of new ideas and we hope everyone liked them. We tried our hardest to make the entire school proud of the Cardeon! 64 Editor: Tami Mikkelson F.H.A.
