HOMECOMING 1 1 f ▼ » v— -Jl'A After a long week of getting floats ready, the Homecoming festivities of Harmony High School began on September 23, The Thursday evening activities began with the bonfire being held at the athletic field. Coronation followed with Deb Lange and Jim Harstad becoming King and Queen. This was followed by a snake dance ending at the watertower. Of course, Thursday evening included the traditional hauling out of the underclassmen giving them a scenic view of the area, if they weren't blindfolded. The parade was held on Friday afternoon. In the float division the freshmen were awarded first, seniors second, and eighth grade third. In addition to the floats and the royalty, the band, girl scouts, and boy scouts also participated in the parade which proceeded down main street. Friday night the Cards entered the battlefield against the Chatfield Gophers. The game ended with the victorious Cards winning by a suspenseful 8-6 score. After the game, a dance was held in the gym. The Pages provided the rock music. 20

HOLIDAY A welcome was given by the Jr. class president, Jim Harstad, and Dennis Schrock, the Sr. class president, replied with a Thank-you. Dennis Berg read the prophecy, Dawn Heusinkveld read the will, and Della Jetson read the history. After the banquet, the formally clad juniors and seniors retreated to the gym to dance to Merle Knutson's band. The traditional Grand March was led by the junior and senior class presidents and their dates.
