ivu We proudly dedicate the Cardinal of 1962 to our superintendent, Mr. Ause. With his unceasing efforts he has enabled our school to progress continuously in order to meet the rising standards of modern education. Hiring fine teachers, guiding our school in her material and educational accomplishments, and fulfilling the numerous tasks required of the eminent office of superintendent are included among his many accomplishments. Mr. Ause, formerly from Preston, Minnesota, received his B.A. degree from St. Olaf and his M.A. degree from the University of Minnesota. While attending St. Olaf, he sang in the world famous St. Olaf Choir for three years and toured the United States extensively. He taught music in several Minnesota and Wisconsin communities before going into school administration. His first superintendency was at Onalaska, Wisconsin. He spent four years in the army, part of this time being spent as a music director. Following his army career, he became superintendent at Askov, Minnesota and then came to Harmony in 1951. He has been active not only in local, community, and church affairs, but also in state activities. He was elected to the State Board of Control in 1958 of which he is presently President. Because of the many things you have done for our school, we wish to dedicate this annual to you, Mr. Ause. 3
