CLASS HISTORY Wifh fhe new year of I948, a new class enfered Harmony Public Schools. There were I8 fo begin wilh, and 'Ihrough 'Ihe years, we have gained many .more, and, of course, losf a few foo. Of fhe original class. 9 have gone fhrough 'Ihick and fhin fo gradu- afe fogefher in I959 along wifh 40 acquired class- mafes. These are JoAnn Bergey, John Chrisfiansen, Julie Hanson, Callie Harmon, Bonnie Hoiness, Diane Hoiness, Lana Maison, Roberf Myers, and Richard Pederson. In firsf grade we gained Melvin Funke. Ral h Heffig came in fhe 'Ihird grade, and David Hahn came in fhe fourfh. Our fiflh grade was increased wifh 'Ihe addifion of Allan Capper, David Jenson, Janel' Morfenson, Ardafh Masfers, and Kennefh Kiehne. Kennefh Chrisfenson and Richard McKay joined us in sixfh grade, and when we were pro- mofed 'Io fhe High School Building, we-were joined by Rosemarie Anderson, Dallas Besfor, David Bigalk, Tom Darrah, Karen Engle, Richard Felland, Kafhleen Grebin, Gar Gossman, Richard Kiehne, Larry Mil- Ier, and Arden Willford. In eighfh grade, we ac- quired Jim Brokken, Marlys Crouch, Ronald Scra- beck, Viola Scrabeck and Tom Winfher, and when we were freshmen, Barbara Alexander, Jim Berning, David Casey, Larry Hovey, Larry Long, George Nagel, Wynn Thafcher, Pauline Vreeman, and Nancy Wilson came Io Harmony. As a sophomore, Mary Brooks came. In our junior year, Gale Burkholder, Gary Every, and Larry Houdek joined us, and in our senior year, our class was complefe wifh Reggie Rulishauser. Throughoul' our high school years, 24 of fha graduafing class have been aclive in music, laofh band and chorus, I3 parficipafed in fooiball, and as seniors helped make Harmony's 'Ieam Co-Disfricl Champions: 6 boys played basketball and many wenf ouf for baseball, frack, and wresfling. As juniors, we worked hard on our prom, using fhe fheme OrienfaI Fanfasy. We were Ihrilled when our beauliful class rings came, and for bofh our junior and senior class plays, we chose mysferies, Ten Liffle Indians and The Bat Also, during our junior year, Girl and Boy Sfafers were chosen. They were Callie Harmon, wilh Bonnie Hoiness as allernafe, and John Chrisfiansen wifh Jim Brokken as alfernafe. Our senior year foofball season was climaxed, wifh homecoming aclivifies when Nancy Wilson and! Gale Burkholder were chosen king and queen. A+-1 fendanfs were Diane Hoiness, Kafhy Grebin, Sharon! ,VoId, Barbara Alexander, Jim Berning, Dick McKay, Richard Felland, and Larry Hovey. As seniors we are looking forward Io our 'Irip fo Chicago, fhe prom, and, of course, graduafion. As a class we have spenl wonderful years fo- gefher af Harmony High School. Upon leaving Harmony, we cafch sighf of Roberf Meyer's new facfory, which engages in squeezing blood ouf of furnips. The furnips are beinq qrown on fhe foofball field.
