SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Our class hrstory dates back as far as 1941 42 Those that were wrth us then and are strll wrth us are Glenda Mrtchell Shrrley Collatt June Callahan LaRene Ph11l1ps Lucrlle Whrtley Joan Garrett Charles Caradrne Charles Vandergrrff and Betty Jo Carodrne MISS Myrtle taught us to read and wrrte and wrthrn a year we were promoted to the second grade Doyne Ray Hogan also started thrs year wrth us Mrss Myrtle was strll wrth us rn the second grade She taught us to add and substract frgures some of us that IS In 1943 44 we experrenced our frrst thrrll of changrng class rooms We were 1n t e thrrd grade and Mrss Robrns was our teacher Mrss Myrtle was strll our favonte though When 1944 45 rolled around we found ourselves a year older and a grade ahead Mrss Coffman was our teacher thrs year 1945 46 found us rn the frfth grade wrth Mrss Trussell as our teacher That year we began to grow out of our shyness and that was the same year those C s and D s found therr place on our report cards representrng our conduct Forrest Bruce and Bobby Tallent Jorned us thrs year The bloomrng year of 1946 47 we garned two more new students Katherrne Tanner of Lrttle Rock and Geraldrne Dobbs who was promoted two grades rn one year Edna Mae Vandergrrff was our teacher thrs year In the year of 1947 48 we had fmally graduated fwrthout formalrtresj to the seventh grade We then had three teachers Mrss Covrngton Mr Cathcart and Mr Baker We were really proud of ourselves by that trme After completrng the seventh grade we felt elrgrble for a year s try tn the erghth grade Thrs was the year 1948 49 A new puprl Jrmmre Danrels entered our class Our teachers were Mr Fulcher Mrs Ph1l11ps and Mrss Covrngton IH 1949 50 another new puprl entered our class Hrs name was John Smrth Our teach ers were Mr Fulcher Mr Hall and Mr Hams Frnally we were rn the tenth grade The year 1950 51 began to fly by At last we felt hke part of the hlgh school Mr Harms Mr Boyd and Mr Maybry were our teachers Another new puprl entered our class He was Edward Damel Junrors at last rn the year 1951 52 We made b1g plans for our next year w1th senror act1v1t1es Mrs Meeks and Mr Cox were our teachers We gave the senrors what we thought was a wonderful banquet at Hotel Marlon 1n Lrttle Rock tlus was our frrst formal actrvrty We also gave our Jumor play thrs year Semors now 1952 53 We are plannrng on graduatrng thrs year It rs full of actrvrtres such as Junror Sen1or Banquet Sen1or Play and Commencement We are all lookrng forward to a successful career after graduatron 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 . 1 1 ' - 1 1 1 . . , . . . . . . , , . . , . . , . , .
