MARYLAND 21014 PHONE: 301 -734-7I71 OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT March 7 , 1967 It is a pleasure to write this letter of dedication since we are honoring an individual for whom we all have the utmost respect. Dr. Alfred C. O'Connell, President of Harford Junior College from 1964 to 19 67 , saw that this institution had an excellent beginning on its new campus . He will be remembered by the student body for his cheerful countenance, his willingness to meet with any student, and the personal interest he took in matters affecting students . The faculty members at the College will long be able to recall his professional leadership in curricular matters , his patent competence in administra- tive concerns, and his willingness to befriend all. The community, too, shall fondly remember Dr. O'Connell as a fine educator, a compelling speaker, and the College personified. Unfortunately, however, there will be those who may never have the opportunity to come to know Alfred C. O'Connell as we have had the privilege of knowing him. These are the tens of thousands of students whose pictures will follow in subsequent editions of the 917.1. Although they may never meet him personally, they may rest assured that the quality education they receive at this College is due to the leadership of the President to whom we are dedicating this yearbook and the members of the faculty whom he challenged.
